A few weeks ago I wrote a post here listing as many Bangkok hotels on Twitter as I could find.
Some hotels are good at the social media thing, finding mentions of their brand on Twitter and responding to guests who have questions, concerns or complaints. Others don’t seem to have a firm grasp on the best ways to utilize the web 2.0 thing just yet, and either leave their account dormant for months or send out a stream of self promotional posts.
If you are a regular Twitter user you may have realized that just following people isn’t a very effective way of keeping up with a topic that you might be interested in. Once you follow a certain number of people, conversations can get lost in the flow and something that somebody Tweeted an hour or two ago can get buried pretty deeply in your stream.
This is where lists come in handy. Anyone can make a list, and you can choose to keep it private or make it available for anybody to see. You can also follow anybody’s list, as long as it is made public. It’s a great and easy way of keeping up to date on what people are saying on a particular topic or market.
With this in mind I present to you my Twitter list of Bangkok Hotels. Feel free to follow it if you like.
While you are there, take a look at my Twitter stream, I tweet as @Sabai_Sabai. If you like the stuff that I tweet please follow me and add me to a list of your own to make sorting by topic, and finding my tweets easier.
If you are heading to Bangkok and are planning on staying at one of the hotels on the list, mention it in one of your tweets and see if and how the hotel responds to you. You might be surprised.
Thanks to @Starrwulfe for the idea of making this into a list.
