Tour of the Caroline Astor Suite

You may remember the sneak peek of the St Regis Bangkok I posted here a couple of months ago. Well now I am pleased to bring you a little video tour of the Caroline Astor Suite which offers arguably the best views in all of Bangkok.

Located across the street from the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, on the 16th to 24th floors, the St Regis created a buzz when they opened the doors to Thailand’s first St Regis property in April.

Check out this video I made of the Caroline Astor Suite at the St Regis Bangkok a week before they opened in April. Imagine waking up to views like this!

As you can see in the video, the bathroom has floor to ceiling windows which look out over the Bangkok Royal Sports Club below. Yod, my butler, assured me that of course the glass in the windows, and the view , were one way and that guests could feel comfortable watching the races from their free-standing bathtub.

Starwood Hotels Category Adjustments for 2011

Two Starwood properties in Thailand moving up a category, one hotel moving down.

If you are planning on booking an award stay with the Starwood Preferred Guest program over the next year at W Retreat Ko Samui, or the Westin Siray Bay, you will get a better deal if you book before February 28th 2011.

Conversely, if you have your eye on the Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort, I would recommend waiting until after March 1st to make your Starwood Preferred Guest award booking.
