Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Photo Tour

I recently posted a review of the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, and as is often the case whenever I post a review of a hotel, one of the hardest decisions to make is which of the many photos I have taken of the hotel to include in the review and which ones to leave out. Normally, my hotel reviews run about 1000 words, as I try to provide as much useful information as possible, but if, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, then today I present to you 16000 of them in my photo tour of the  Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit hotel in Bangkok.

Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Review

Poolside gardens at The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok

In this week’s review we will be looking at The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit.

I used Starpoints to stay at this hotel earlier this year, my first Luxury Collection stay. The hotel is very nice, but the highlight was undoubtedly the amazing pool. I got down and dangerous and took the camera into the pool just so I could film a tour of this extensive pool. The video is below.

The 6 Best Bangkok Riverside Hotels

The banks of the Chao Phraya river are host to a number of beautiful Bangkok riverside hotels, some steeped in legend, others quite new.

The Majestic Chao Phraya river, running right through Bangkok is a must see for visitors to the capital of Thailand. Plowed by ferry boats, teak dinner cruises and barges alike, it is still a major traffic route and a great way to avoid the notorious traffic jams that can clock up the streets for hours, while taking in fantastic views.

The hotels listed here, on both sides of the river, while all accessible by road, all have their own private pier and provide complimentary shuttle boat services to Saphan Taksin pier, which connects to the BTS Skytrain, allowing guests to easily travel to just about anywhere in this bustling metropolis.

Peninsula Hotel Bangkok

One of the classic riverside hotels in Bangkok, this hotel was built in a “W” shape, affording all of the 370 rooms of the 39 story hotel stunning views of the Chao Phraya River. The Peninsula Hotel Bangkok is often the subject of enlivened debate over which is the best hotel in Bangkok. It’s main rival of course being the next hotel on our list.

The excellent location and the luxurious guest rooms and facilities set the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok apart from other hotels in the city. Rich woods, marble, Thai silks and more are used to furnish and decorate the guest rooms, and with the Deluxe Rooms offering the largest standard hotel rooms in Bangkok guests can be assured of space and comfort when staying here.

Other 5 star facilities at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok include several award winning restaurants, a lively club, a jazz lounge, business center, function rooms, and Grande Spa and Fitness Club.

Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Spa

The beautiful freeform swimming pool is surrounded by lush vegetation providing plenty of shade and privacy when desired, plus the feeling of being far away from the bustling streets of Bangkok. I decided to try something new this time and go down to the pool early before people started coming down and make a video showing the full extent of the pool and surrounding areas.
