As we head towards summer in the northern hemisphere, many people’s thoughts turn to tropical getaways. Last week I presented 23 five star Phuket hotels for less than US185 during July 2012, this week we will take a look at an island which is a little less traveled, and as a result still relatively unspoilt. Yes, I’m talking about Ko Samui. This week we have 14 Five Star Samui Resorts for less than USD205 in July, including two that can be had for less than USD100 per night, with rates starting as low as USD81. These rates are a steal for Ko Samui in the middle of summer.

As usual, I searched Agoda for 4 nights in the middle of July (from Monday 16th) and have listed the five star hotels and resorts below with the cheapest hotels listed first. I have also indicated which hotels and resorts offer free wifi with the Free wifi mark.

One Bangkok and two Ko Samui hotels join 121 other hotels around the world to make Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the best hotels that opened in 2010.

In the recently released 2011 Condé Nast Traveler Hot Hotels List, 124 properties spanning 43 countries and six continents were chosen from all the hotels that opened in 2010 as the best of the best.

Below are the three hotels in Thailand which opened in 2010 and made it to this year’s Hot List.
