Hyatt Regency Hua Hin Regency club closure.

Hyatt LogoFrom mid-summer (August 15), The Regency Club rooms and facilities at the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin will be unavailable to guests as the hotel will be starting a complete overhaul and renovation of all Regency Club rooms and facilities. The BARAI Spa will be unaffected.

Closing it down in the middle of the summer seems a little strange, but I suppose they need to do this in order to have it ready by the middle of December for the start of the peak season.

Child Muay Thai boxers

A 9 year old girl takes a break between rounds of muay thai boxing

Seeing this news story on a 7 year old girl who is a champion Muay Thai boxer reminded me of the night I watched a match between a 9 year boy and 9 year girl.

You can read my account of the night I went and watched some child Muay Thai boxers in Hua Hin at the Grand Sport Hua Hin on Petchkasem Road. This is a good night of entertainment if you are staying in Hua Hin, or even if you are living it up in one of the hotels in Cha Am, the next beach resort town on the way to Bangkok.

After mentioning The Hua Hin Marriott Resort and Spa in an earlier post about the Hua Hin Jazz festival, I thought I’d share some photos and thoughts about the place.

We arrived quite late (around 8pm) on a Friday night because we couldn’t leave Bangkok until after I finished work. We were seated in the airy lobby (seen in the picture below) and handed chilled towels scented with jasmine and a complimentary drink while the staff got our details and checked us in.
