Pillow menu at the Grand Hyatt Erawan, Bangkok

Getting ready for a nice read before bed at the Grand Hyatt Erawan last week I was taken aback by a new menu on the bedside table placed on top of the room service menu- a Pillow Menu.

At first I thought it was some kind of bedtime snack menu or a choice of items to be placed on your pillow during turndown service. However it was literally a menu of pillows- seven to choose from to be exact.

I personally have always found the pillows normally provided on the bed extremely comfortable and have never thought about requesting another type, but some people do have certain needs, and I’m pretty sure pretty much everybody’s needs can be filled by this large selection on offer at the Grand Hyatt Erawan.

The available types are:

• Medium firm polyester.
• Contour massage pillow-designed to orthopedically support the neck, allowing for superior blood-flow and spine placement.
• Neck Support pillow- U-shaped with air blown fibers.
• Cervicalopedic pillow- designed to support the head and neck in the most natural position during sleep, this pillow features a unique oval center area.
• Buckwheat pillow- Probably quite popular with Japanese guests- too noisy for my liking.
• Standard latex pillow- the huge, soft extremely comfortable pillows that come standard on the beds here.
• Ultra soft micro fibre pillow- offers down-like comfort for the guest who prefers a synthetic alternative.

There was also a similar menu at the riverside Millennium Hilton Bangkok as well, but I forgot to take it with me when I checked out last week. I’ll drop by next week to pick one up and write a post about the offerings there if there is any interest shown by readers.
