Agoda best price Guarantee

Agoda's Best price guarantee

Agoda, one of the biggest names in online hotel reservations has consistently offered some of the lowest rates to be found online for hotels and resorts not only in Thailand and around Asia, but also for all other regions of the world as well.

Their Agoda Rewards system, which awards points worth between 4 and 7% of each booking, allows for even greater discounts on their already famously low prices. Their new Best Price Guarantee raises the bar again and practically cements them as the first choice for online hotel reservations.

The basic details of the guarantee are as follows. After booking a hotel room through Agoda, if you find the same room for the same dates at a cheaper price on another website that is viewable and available, within 48 hours of booking your room, let Agoda know and they will match the rate or beat it.

Check out the Agoda website for more details of their Best Price Guarantee and to check out their low rates for your self.

Hotels near Panthip Plaza

Panthip Plaza on Petchaburi Road in Bangkok is a mana from heaven for people looking for anything to do with computers or electronics. It is a multi-story mall with practically every square inch of floor space taken up by every conceivable type of electronics product available, from region-free DVDs, computers and computer parts, printers, game consoles, DVDs, CDs and software, as well as stalls that will do custom work for you including chipping of region locked devices, unlocking and “jailbreaking” iPhones among other things.

Hotels near Wat Pho, Bangkok

The Reclining Golden Buddha at Wat Pho

Continuing our series of hotels hotels near famous Bangkok landmarks and tourists attractions, I bring you 20 hotels near Wat Pho, the home of the giant golden reclining Buddha, perhaps one of the most famous landmarks in Bangkok, if not all of Thailand.

The area around Wat Pho is very convenient to a number of other temples that are popular on the sight seeing circuit. The Grand Palace is also very close, making this area an ideal launching pad for a day or two of Bangkok’s must see destinations.

Being close to the famous Khaosan Road, there are a large number of cheap and very cheap hotels, of varying quality. You can stay overnight in this area for as little as USD14 a night, but don’t forget that old adage that you get what you pay for.  Some of these places are definitely aimed at backpackers and the adventurous. Not much here for the “flashpacker” crowd, although one or two may fit the bill.

With public transportation being so cheap in Thailand, I personally wouldn’t stay in the area if all I wanted to do was see Wat Pho, The Grand Temple and other nearby attractions. A taxi from more popular areas of Bangkok won’t cost you very much at all.

One piece of advice though. The Tuk Tuk drivers in this area are more, …”aggresive” in their pursuit of the Baht, and are less reliable than tuk tuk drivers in other parts of Bangkok. Unless you really know what you are doing, I would save the Tuk Tuk ride for when you are in another part of the city. Take a taxi to and from this area, it will save you more than just time and sweat.
