All the photos on this page were taken on New Years Eve last year from the Lebua at State Tower Hotel, which was featured in The Hangover 2. I also used one of these photos for my December 2011 desktop calendar wallpaper.
While the views from the balconies of the Lebua Club rooms in the 63 story hotel are spectacular, Lebua isn’t the only Bangkok hotel which offers fantastic views of the NYE fireworks display over the Chao Phraya River.

Lebua at State Tower Bangkok
Lebua at State Tower plays a prominent role in The Hangover Part II -showcasing the open air bar on the roof of a skyscraper hotel as seen from a helicopter. Located across the street from the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, on the 16th to 24th floors, the St Regis created a buzz when they opened the doors to Thailand’s first St Regis property in April.
Check out this video I made of the Caroline Astor Suite at the St Regis Bangkok a week before they opened in April. Imagine waking up to views like this!
As you can see in the video, the bathroom has floor to ceiling windows which look out over the Bangkok Royal Sports Club below. Yod, my butler, assured me that of course the glass in the windows, and the view , were one way and that guests could feel comfortable watching the races from their free-standing bathtub.
