Bangkok hotel re-opening dates list updated daily.

Bangkok is now back to normal with all roads, hotels, shops and attractions operating as normal. I am leaving the previous updates below as a record of events.

Following the departure of UDD protesters in central Bangkok, the city is now in cleanup mode. A city-wide curfew remains until Sunday night. Hotels that were forced to close are cleaning up and preparing for re-opening, with most set to re-open Monday the 24th or Wednesday the 26th. This morning I have updated Bangkok hotel re-openings for the Ratchadamri and Siam areas which were the most severely affected areas, and will update the others later today.

Updated MapA full, annotated zoom-able Google map of the Bangkok protests is available here. The map is still online and marked with the danger spots at the peak of the unrest, however Bangkok is now back to normal and totally safe for visitors and residents alike.

I am calling many of the hotels in the affected areas every today to check whether they are open and when they are re-opening. I will list all hotel closures and re-opening dates here. Below is the list of their current status as of today. Check back daily as I will be updating this list of Bangkok hotel closures everyday until the situation is back to normal.

  • Centara Grand at Central World : Closed – Vague answer from sales office saying “next week”. When pressed she said that staff will be coming to work on the 26th.
  • Novotel Bangkok at Siam Square : Closed – Plans to reopen May 24.
  • Siam@Siam : Closed-Plans to re-open May 24th
  • Pathumwan Princess : Closed – “Tomorrow or Monday”. No clear policy yet
  • VIE – Closed. Re-opening Monday May 24th.

  • Mayfair Marriott Executive Apartments : Closed until May 23rd.
  • Fraser Place Urbana Lang Suan : Open but not accepting new reservations until Sunday 23rd May, however walk-ins will be accomodated.

    Rebecca, Siam@Siam is located very close to the action but just a couple of blocks outside of the army controlled area.

    Hi, we're due to stay at the Royal Orchid Sheraton at the end of June. Has this been affected at all? Originally the main Sheraton website had a link but this has now been removed! Great timing.

    I know it's 'how long is a piece of string' but how far in advance would you thingk we should give up on Bangkok and look to try and alter our plans?

      Sorry, I am still unable to get in contact with the Century Park. First there was no response when I called, I mean the phone didn't even ring. Then I got a busy signal for a day or two, now I'm getting a "number does not exist" message.

I am the GM of Amari Boulevard on Soi 5. Its safe here. and accessible from the airport. You can book us onhttp://www.amari.com/boulevard. We have great prices now. Just book a Superior as everyone gets upgraded to Deluxe free of charge.

Sorry, I am still unable to get in contact with the Century Park. First there was no response when I called, I mean the phone didn't even ring. Then I got a busy signal for a day or two, now I'm getting a "number does not exist" message.
I've put out a tweet about it, hopefully somebody who knows something will tweet back.

Century Park Hotel will open again on May 27th. Some minor damages in the lobby & 2nd floor.
