“The Barai” at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin

Barai at Hyatt regency Hua Hin

In March of 2007 The Hyatt Regency Hua Hin announced the opening of The Barai, a new residential spa with eight exclusive spa suites and 18 exotic treatment rooms. Overnight and day spa guests alike can enjoy the sanctum of serenity over 4.5 acres of land.

The Barai is the latest addition to Hyatt Pure spas, a collection of over 70 spas worldwide, each with it’s own unique culturally and location inspired identity.

The eight residential suites range in size from 126 to 149 square meters are designed for indulgence. The suites on the ground floor feature a veranda with a private plunge pool and tropical garden. The upper floor suites feature generously sized balconies with panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand. Incidentally, the sunrises over the Gulf are breathtaking and are worth the effort of waking up early at least once to catch one.

Among the facilities in the 18 private spa rooms are a rain shower, a private outdoor soaking pool and a “sala”, a Thai-style day bed for massage treatments.

Tranquility court is a secluded area enclosed by sheer walls with breathtaking views of the ocean, with a 30 meter long unique swimming channel (inspired by the original barais, which were large man-made reservoirs created by the Khmers to channel irrigated water for use in their daily lives) surrounded by a sand and stone court, ideal for yoga, meditation and contemplation.

Hyatt Regency Hua Hin

The Barai is the newest addition to the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin, which offers a family friendly environment that features the largest recreational facilities in Hua Hin, including a series of fun and seemingly never-ending interconnected swimming pools and beautifully manicured lush tropical gardens and a unique beach pool. There is also a games room for the children as well as many activities planned every day throughout the hotel’s vast beautifully landscaped grounds.

There are four restaurants and bars on the property including Italian, home-style Thai, served in beautiful open-walled sala type restaurant, seafood specialties and a tasty Asian noodle bar by the pool. You can also have a very romantic and private table for two set up overlooking the beach for the ultimate candle-light dinner.

While The Hyatt Regency Hua Hin bills itself as a family friendly hotel, and indeed it is, for those looking for a little more privacy, there is the Regency Club, in a totally separate section of the hotel with a private pool for the exclusive use of the Regency Club guests as well as evening cocktails and snacks as well as breakfast served by the pool, all included in the room rate.

With the addition of The Barai, The Hyatt Regency Hua Hin now offers 3 distinct levels of accommodation for guests with different needs, whether you are looking for a fun family holiday, a quieter luxury getaway or a sanctuary to relax rejuvenate.
