In a hurry? Check out this list of top family friendly resorts in Phuket Thailand.
Traveling with kids in tow can a very fun and rewarding experience, but it can also be quite stressful, for both the kids and the parents. The parents want to relax and have a good time, but at the same time show the kids something new and exciting, and hopefully broaden their horizons by introducing them to new and exciting experiences. Teenagers also want to have a good time, but their idea of fun rarely involves anything to do with their parents.
But the most important thing is that no matter where you go, the children are safe and happy.
Traveling in Thailand can be fun and exotic for everyone in the family, from riding elephants and tuks tuks, to having fun on the beautiful beaches of Phuket and enjoying some of the other many unique experiences Thailand has to offer. But if you have to constantly watch the kids and try to think up things to entertain them, especially in a foreign land, your vacation could start to feel a little less like a holiday and a little more like a chore.
It’s a little hard to relax on the beautiful tropical beaches of Phuket with a book and a drink if you have to keep one eye on the kids, especially if they are bored and expect you to pick up the entertainment slack. And you can forget about a romantic dinner if mum and dad have to feed the kids or make sure they behave. Thailand has lots of great markets where you can find some fantastic bargains, but a lot of them are very crowded and not the ideal environment to drag kids along to.
One solution that smart family travelers resort to are family friendly hotels. These are hotels and resorts that were either designed with the traveling family in mind, or have facilities and policies that make it a lot easier for people traveling with children to enjoy their time during their stay.
Some hotels may have interconnecting rooms, or even “kid suites”,- specially designed rooms with facilities to keep the kids busy like Play Station videos games, toy boxes etc. All of them have some kind of “kid’s club”, providing all day child minding with educational and fun activities for the kids, internet access and games for teenagers, and sports and cultural activities for the whole family.
We have carefully compiled a list of what we believe are the 10 best family friendly resorts in Phuket for 2010.
